How I Became a Fool

I saw this post on Indeed.com yesterday: "The Motley Fool is looking for brilliant, compelling freelance writers who can present the Foolish business angle on the news of the day, whether it’s stemming from Capitol Hill or Hollywood, Cupertino or Cooperstown, or anywhere in the world." They spelled out what they want and what they don't: no antagonistic, self-important divas.You can tell right away I read it too quickly since I missed the part about being brilliant. If I were a diva, however, I'd know because I'd be rich. Anyway, I sent my resume and an intro. I don't have a cover letter. (A friend once asked me to write a cover letter she could use for all her job apps. I said if I did, the job poster would know. She's still not talking to me.)
I see now the resume had an old link to my features on One for the Table. Yet today, I got a nice note saying that so long as I abide by their trading rules, I might earn partnerships with Fool.com editors and analysts along with an "international following." (This is true since I'm getting overseas requests today to connect on LinkedIn and Twitter from guys I've never met.)
I will do my best to be a good Fool. My mishpocha have been waiting years to let everyone know 'I am a fool.' Your help in making many people delirious with this appointment is gratifying.
